🎡 PLAYDATE this month is 🎠 11th September: see details below
As the summer holiday season drawers to a close the outdoor fun doesn't come to an end in Six Streets. Our playing out sessions return for September and October.

As schools are not back this week we have moved the September playing out to Friday, the 11th of September at the usual time of 4 pm. We have ordered warm and sunny weather from the gods so all is set for a great afternoon!

We want to thank the car owning residents at the top end of White Street for their support by keeping that part of the street clear of cars from 4 to 5 pm on the day. (emergency/urgent resident vehicle access can be organised by the stewards)

The playing out movement, which we are part of, continues to grow throughout the UK as more people recognise the benefits to children and the community of finding the time and space for children to play and socialise close to their homes in an organised and safe, yet unstructured way.

If you haven't seen playing out in action and you have young children, why not come along and see what it's all about (children must have a supervising adult with them).

We're all volunteers here and if you like the idea of playing out, we could do with a few more volunteers to act as stewards during the event - it only takes an hour, it's fun and sociable and not difficult! If you can help message us on Facebook, or email, or come in find us on the day – we're the ones in the purple high viz jackets!

GIVEAWAY time 🎁
- some items already out for collection on Merchant St
📚 a set of lovely books
- and a sofa (see description below)

Please send me items to donate before the last weekend of the month and I will try to collate the ad between the end of the weekend and the very last day of the month.

About the sofa: Its an IKEA Klippan sofa. Cover has always been covered so its in good condition. Its about 10 years old and still pretty solid. There is a repair to one arm but still functional. Fantastic in a home office, man cave or teenagers room. It was originally flat packed so I can dismantle it in readiness for anyone collecting it, if needed.

🌱 St Alkmund’s Great Garden Giveaway 🍎🥕

Harvest season is arriving early this year, and we're delighted to launch our annual Great Garden Giveaway!

Do you have an abundance of home-grown fruit or vegetables? We'd love for you to share them with our local community. Simply bring your fresh garden produce to St Alkmund’s between 9:30am and 12:30pm on Sunday mornings, starting 23rd August and continuing throughout September.

You don't need to bring produce to take part. If you don't grow your own fruit and veg but would appreciate some fresh local produce, please come along and join in. Everyone is welcome.

This is a wonderful way to bless one another, reduce food waste, support our local community, and care for the planet.

Come and share the harvest with us! 🌍💚
