Should drivers who have an automatic only driving licence have to sit another full practical test if they wish to drive a manual?

The AA is suggesting it's time for a rethink and rather than having to sit another test, the driver takes on some additional training and an assessment.

The team over at Boreham Motorworks are putting the finishing touches to this, the Es**rt Mk1 RS, their take on the Ford classic and the first of a list of continuation models blessed by the blue oval.

Under the bonnet, it certainly packs a punch. Fitted with a entirely bespoke race honed 'Ten-K' engine capable of 10,000rpm, it's more powerful than a Golf R and even 100kg lighter a Mazda MX-5.

"We didn't want a car that anybody would either consider or could capably build themselves," John Mitchell, Boreham's director of Ford Heritage told Autocar recently before adding "It just had to be different."
