A lovely afternoon out with the kids picking pumpkins from a fantastic local farm. It’s always a great reminder of the hard work, dedication, and passion that goes into producing food and days families can experience like this, that may not ordinarily step foot onto a farm.
In my job I take great pride in what I do to protect farmers and their livelihoods, so they can keep doing what they do best. 🌾🇬🇧

🚜 Think “Any Driver” means anyone? Think again!

Not all Any Driver cover is the same that’s why conversations with your broker are important, before assuming there is cover. Here are some common restrictions.

🚜 The vehicle must be being used in conjunction with your business, if you lend it to someone they need to insure it!

🚜 People with points on their licence or convictions don’t come under the any driver cover, they need to be added as named drivers.

🚜 Previous Claims - if a driver has previous claims check with your broker, each insurer will take a different stance.

🔥Harvest Fires 🔥

In the last couple of weeks, there have been a number of fires involving Agri Vehicles, Machinery and Crops that have been reported and and down the country! Undoubtedly due to the high temperatures and lack of rain!
It’s then that you’re going to find out if you have the correct cover in place, when it comes to submitting your claim.
Most of the advice I’ve seen has been focused on fire prevention but if you’re really unlucky, and you do have to claim, here are some key points to consider before you have a problem, that a loss adjuster is going to want to know:

✅ Have you got a Fire Plan/ Risk assessment and has it been followed
✅ When was the last time that bit of machinery was serviced and has it been done regularly
✅ What steps you had taken to mitigate any risk

these are crucial points as it’s what can decipher if a claim is paid or not. You also need to make sure:

➡️ You notify your broker as soon as possible that there will be a claim so we can put your insurer on stand by
➡️ Make sure your having these conversations with your broker not just at renewal but throughout the year, what if …………..
