📉 Bank of England Base Rate Update 📉

The Bank of England has announced a 0.25% reduction in the base rate today, from 4% to 3.75%.

This is positive step for the economy and great news for borrowers. We expect lenders to review their mortgage interest rates in response to this over the coming days and weeks.

What does this mean?

🏡 First-time buyers & home movers
If you’re thinking about buying your first home or making a move, today’s rate reduction could work in your favour. Lower interest rates can mean more affordable monthly payments and better mortgage options, so now could be a great time to get your plans moving and see what’s possible.

🔍 Existing customers
We’ll be closely monitoring lenders following today’s announcement. If a lender reduces the rate on an offer you already have, we’ll proactively request an amendment wherever possible — so you don’t miss out on any savings.

📢 Bank of England cuts interest rates – here's is what you need to know 📢

The Bank of England has announced a rate reduction today from 4.25% down to 4%, which could have a ripple effect across the housing and financial markets.

🏠 What does this mean for Mortgage customers?

If you're on a Bank of England tracker product you will see your payments fall.

If you are on a variable-rate mortgage, linked to a Building Societies standard variable rate, then you may see your payments start to fall. It's not always a given that Building Societies reduce their standard variable rate in line with Bank of England reductions.

If you're already are on a fixed rate then this will remain the same.

We could see more competitive deals hitting the market soon. Having said that, the market was already priced pretty well given where the base rate lies today but we expect to see some movement.

Whether you're thinking about remortgaging, buying your first home, or just want some guidance, we are here to help you make sense of it all.
