Susan Wood Resident's Association Welcome to the Susan Wood Residents Association. We've created this page so we have one forum to update all members on all things Susan Wood.

The Susan Wood Residents Association was created to unify the residents of Susan Wood and represent the interests of the residents in the community. OBJECTIVES

Our core objectives as an association are:

1. To have one voice when dealing with the Council, local utility companies, and other organisations.

2. To maintain our new road. This includes ensuring effective drainage/surface water mana

gement.

3. To ensure adequate public liability insurance protection for all members of the Susan Wood Residents Association. Members will be covered by public liability insurance purchase by SWRA.

4. To provide a safe and secure environment for residents and families.

5. To improve the environmental ambiance (ie lighting & foliage) of Susan Wood.

6. To create a cohesive sense of community by organizing annual social events.

7. To listen to and raise the concerns of the residents within the neighborhood. MEMBERSHIP

Great to see Susan Wood residents out this morning, coming together to w**d, plant, prune, sweep, and take pride in maintaining their road. 👏

With hundreds of unadopted roads across our borough, it’s especially inspiring to see communities stepping up and making a difference where they can, maintaining their own patch of Chislehurst and shared spaces.

These efforts don’t just improve how a street looks, they help build stronger, safer neighbourhoods, encourage community spirit, and create a more welcoming environment for everyone.

A big thank you to everyone involved, especially Ian for providing the morning tea! 🫖 ☕️ 🥪

We understand that parking on Susan Wood can be difficult at times, but that does not excuse parking irresponsibly.

This has now happened twice in one month. Emergency services have been obstructed, and on one occasion an ambulance took 15 minutes just to get out of the road. That delay could cost lives.

Emergency services don’t come for convenience, they come to save lives and homes. The vehicle you block could be trying to get your neighbour, friend, or family member to hospital, or a fire engine trying to save your house. Every second matters. ⏰

This is not a minor inconvenience. It is dangerous and unacceptable.

Please park responsibly and keep the road clear at all times. One day, the emergency services trying to get through may be coming for you.

I went online and put our postcode in, and it confirmed fibre optic in Susan Wood is now available.

I then called our supplier and have arranged to have it switched from current package - two plastic cups and a bit of string, to fibre optic. Each provider is different, but we have been told it will take 5 working days to move into the 21st century!

Ultrafast Full Fibre broadband is Coming Our Way

The great news is that Susan Wood is now part of our exciting build plans. As our engineers start to make progress in your area, we will keep you posted on progress and let you know when you’ll be ready to get Ultrafast Full Fibre installed.

What happens next?

These are the three steps our engineering team will go through:

1. Survey your area prior to starting build, to make sure that we’ve got everything that we need to connect you to Ultrafast Full Fibre broadband

2. Start building Ultrafast Full Fibre broadband in your area

3. Complete the build outside your property, then you’ll be ready to place an order with one of our Full Fibre service provider partners which include Sky, TalkTalk, BT and Zen

During these steps, there may be reasons why we might not be able to build to your area as quickly as we’d like, such as getting permissions from highways agencies or access to shared properties.

If this happens in Chislehurst, we will let you know.
