This month, I talk about the "con" that insurers play when talking about VAT on repairs when they are not VAT registered themselves. Insurance claims are "compensatory" and MUST pay the full sum of the loss. The "VAT ELEMENT " is only part of the calculation of what the sum of the loss is.

It does NOT need to be incurred to be compensated. See " Coles v Hetherton".
