MT Coaching and Mentoring - Steps to Success Helping students & young adults quiet the noise in their minds
Overthinking. Procrastination. Self-doubt. You’re not broken — you’re overloaded.

“By now I should feel more confident.” “By this age I should know what I’m doing.” Who actually told you that? The timeline you’re trying to keep up with was never real. It was built from comparison and expectations that were never based on facts. You don’t need to catch up with anyone.

Making mistakes, feeling unsure, changing direction, learning slowly — we assume that means we’re falling behind. But that IS growth. Messy, uneven, invisible growth. Roots grow underground for a long time before you see anything above the surface. Those uncomfortable days count. Free ebook in my bio.

Think of your best moments of focus — when ideas connected and you lost track of time. Did that happen because you were pushing harder? Or because the pressure lifted and your mind went quiet? Clarity is the mind’s natural state. You don’t earn it through effort. You uncover it. 🎒 Free ebook in my bio.

“I’m behind” doesn’t feel like a thought. It feels like a verdict. But here’s what’s actually happening — when you’re tired and stressed, your mind produces more urgent, more negative thoughts. Not because they’re accurate. Because it thinks it’s protecting you. 🎒 Free course in my bio built entirely around this.

Family expectations. Financial pressure. Fear of failure. Comparison with everyone around you. Most of us carry all of this silently, without ever talking about it. At some point, that backpack gets heavy. The answer isn’t to try harder. It’s to put it down for a moment. 🎒 Free ebook in my bio — a good place to start.

Most people don’t stop to reflect on this… but maybe they should.

Because if you actually look back at the year you thought you were going to have versus the one you’ve actually lived, there’s usually a huge gap between expectation and reality.

I never would’ve predicted I’d have authored 3 books on Amazon.

I never would’ve thought I’d be writing regular blog posts based on real conversations I’m having with students.

I'd never have thought I'd have a website - www.mtcoachingandmentoring.com

and 100 subscribed to emails (I really need to do more with this)

And I definitely didn’t think I’d almost start a nursing degree… only to end up being pulled straight back to what I actually care about: coaching.

It’s been a turbulent year in a lot of ways, but also one filled with progress I probably would’ve overlooked in the moment.

Now I can look back and think—that actually happened. That was me.

And weirdly, that’s a good feeling.

It makes me curious about what the next few months are going to bring. Because if the last year is anything to go by, my predictions probably won’t even come close.

So I’m genuinely curious…

What are your biggest accomplishments this year?

And how different did they turn out compared to what you originally planned?

Was recommended this a long while ago and was actively trying to get a copy of without dishing out nearly £50, found one for £12 and jumped at the opportunity. It was a little tattered and damaged but ah well.

I can honestly say this is probably the best book I have read and would recommend it to anyone even if they are just setting up a business and not even in coaching. It’s so easy to read.

Whilst reading this book a miracle happened, I found the exact same book in pristine condition for £2 😂🤩🎉🎉🎉

Most people think multitasking is a skill.

Something to get better at. Something that helps you stay on top of everything.

But what if it’s actually the thing making everything feel harder?

What we call multitasking is usually just constant switching. And every time your attention moves, there’s a cost. Not always obvious in the moment — but it builds. Into fatigue, scattered thinking, and that feeling of being busy without really getting anywhere.

And it’s not because you’re lazy or lack discipline.

More often, it’s because your mind is overloaded.

Too many thoughts. Too much pressure. Too much trying to hold everything at once.

So attention looks for relief.

That’s when the switching starts.

This article breaks that down in a simple, honest way — and shows why focus isn’t something you force, but something that returns when your mind has space again.

If you’ve ever sat down to work and found yourself jumping between things without knowing why, this will make sense.

Discover why multitasking is a myth and how constant task-switching drains your focus and energy. This article explores the hidden causes of distraction, the role of mental overload, and how creating internal clarity can naturally restore concentration and productivity.
