It's been a quieter few months on here while life took priority. Rest assured, the hard work has continued behind the scenes and I'm back in the kitchen and excited to start sharing again.
The first cake I ever decorated started with barely an idea at all. It was for my godson's 2nd birthday and I knew the party theme was 'construction', like other two year old boys he was obsessed with diggers!
Growing up, I'd loved helping my mum and grandmother in the kitchen, but I'd never actually decorated a cake before. I just knew I wanted to share a bit of the same magic I remember from my own birthdays as a child, receiving those special kind of cakes that were made just for you.
This was nearly sixteen years ago, and people who attended his party still bring it up now. I didn't set out to start a business that day. I just wanted my godson to feel special. But it's the reason Skye High Cake Designs exists. Every cake I make now is designed to give someone else that very same feeling.
