Being a new business owner is exciting… and sometimes terrifying.
When people start a business, they often see the logo, the website, the social media posts and the enthusiasm.
What they don’t always see are the moments behind the scenes.
The overwhelm of learning new systems.
The endless stream of social media advice telling you what you “should” be doing.
The shiny new software that promises to solve all your problems.
The self-doubt that quietly asks, “Am I good enough?”
The hope that someone will see the value in what you’re building.
The dream that one day all the hard work, investment, learning and late nights will turn into something sustainable and meaningful.
As a relatively new bookkeeping business owner, I understand those feelings because I’m living them too.
Yes, I have the qualifications. Yes, I’ve invested heavily in training, software, systems and professional memberships. The technical knowledge is there.
But I’m also building a business myself.
I’m learning, growing, networking, making mistakes, celebrating small wins and occasionally wondering whether everyone else knows something I don’t.
And perhaps that’s exactly why I love working with new businesses.
I understand what it feels like to look at your bank account and wonder if you’re making the right decisions.
I understand the excitement of your first customer, your first positive review, your first referral.
I understand that every pound matters.
Most of all, I understand how much courage it takes to start.
My goal isn’t just to keep records and submit returns.
It’s to help business owners feel a little less overwhelmed and a little more confident about their finances, so they can focus on building the business they dreamed about.
Because every established business was once a new business.
And sometimes it helps to have someone walking alongside you who remembers exactly what those first steps feel like.
