The UK's mental health challenge can't be ignored
New research from AXA has found that the UK now ranks as having the poorest mental health in Europe, with more than 1 in 3 people affected by poor mental health. Nearly 30% of those struggling report severe levels of depression, anxiety or stress.
The research also found that:
- 50% say uncertainty about the future is having a negative impact on their mental health.
- 60% of people experiencing mental health concerns haven't sought support from a mental health professional in the past year.
- 25% worry about being judged if they do ask for help.
Mental health is just as important as physical health. Access to the right support, whether through employers, health insurance or healthcare professionals, can make a real difference.
