📣 Another week goes by and interest rates are currently looking stable. A handful of lenders making further reductions perhaps to align themselves with the more competitive lenders in the market, not necessarily impacting the cheapest deals out there but still contributing to cheaper rates across the market.
 
🏦 This week the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) are set to review the bank of England Base Rate once again. Given the current state of affairs with the economy, Trump’s talks of imposing tariffs on imports, and the Bank of Englands ‘gradual and careful’ approach to improve interest rates, we anticipate a hold on further changes this week and likely for the short term.
 
📉We remain confident as we reflect on the dramatic improvements the mortgage market has made since Liz Truss’ budget announcement and since coming out of Covid19.

👏 Besides the obvious improvements in interest rates, the last quarterly report from the FCA shows that mortgage approvals were up by more than 50% compared to a year prior! Circumstances are improving.
