We’re proud to work in partnership with Blackpool Council to help find safe, supportive and loving homes for children and young people across the region. 💛
Stories like Gillian and Colin’s show how fostering can grow and evolve over time, from caring for younger children to supporting older children and siblings. Through patience, understanding and a stable home environment, foster carers can make a lasting difference to a young person’s life.
A huge thank you to all foster carers for the care, encouragement and opportunities they give children every single day. 🏡✨

As it’s Foster Care Fortnight, we wanted to celebrate another fab fostering couple.
Gillian and Colin have been fostering with us for around three years. As one of their birth children still lives at home, the couple were initially wanting to care for younger children so they could see how their son adjusted.
They then decided to consider caring for some of our older children and siblings.
The couple are part of our Mockingbird programme, which enables our foster carers to join a community with other foster families in Blackpool.
We asked Gillian how she has found caring for some of our older children and about the impact of fostering.
Gillian told us: “Older children do give a different kind of perspective as a foster carer, but as long as you have patience it really helps. Fostering has changed our lives. We love seeing children safe and happy and thriving with the right support in place.”
Thank you to Gillian and Colin for providing a safe, loving home to some of our children and young people ☺️
