As some of you may know, I’m part of a local running club, and this year we will be doing our 3rd BHAM Runners Jolly Trolly run.

We will be dressed up and lit up, running the streets of Martock and Bower Hinton, collecting non-perishable goods for Martock Christian Fellowship transforming lives food bank.

We will set off from the Pinnacle at around 18:30 on the 18th December and will plot a route around the streets.

We would appreciate it if you could either leave a little something out in your garden for us to pick up, or donate something in person as we pass your door. You could even meet us at the Pinnacle and donate there!

❗️BUDGET 2024 ❗️

The Stamp Duty cuts announced in the September 2022 mini-budget for residential properties will remain in place for first-time buyers and home-movers until 31 March 2025. So, if you’re a first-time buyer, you won’t have to pay any stamp duty on properties costing up to £425,000 and if you’re not a first-time buyer you won’t have to pay any stamp duty on properties costing up to £250,000.

For purchases made on or after 1 April 2025, however, if you’re a first-time buyer the nil rate threshold above which stamp duty becomes payable on residential property will reduce to £300,000 and if you’re not a first-time buyer the nil rate threshold for First Time Buyers will reduce to £125,000.
