It’s been a busy week of networking for the MacKay team.

Great to attend the Glasgow Chamber of Commerce lunch at Crossbasket Castle yesterday - the sun was shining and it was a great event. Always a pleasure to catch up with familiar faces and meet new contacts from across the business community.

We had a fantastic time last week at the Ladies of Insurance Lunch. It was wonderful to see everyone all dressed up, catching up, and networking in such a positive atmosphere. A real celebration of the strength and community within the insurance industry.

The day also supported the incredible work of Alzheimer Scotland, a charity very close to many of our hearts. Like so many others, we have personal connections to this devastating disease, so the event carried a mix of emotions - plenty of laughter, but also a few tears along the way.

We’re incredibly proud that together we helped raise £10,000 for this amazing cause. A truly special afternoon for a truly important cause. 💙

People remain the most common point of entry for cyber-incidents, regardless of how strong an organisation’s technical controls may be. Many cyber-security training programmes fall short. Too often, they function as a “tick box” exercise, delivering information without driving meaningful behavioural change.

Social engineering remains a leading cause of cyberincidents, using deception to trick individuals into sharing sensitive information or taking harmful actions.

One emerging method, the cyber-attack (also known as ClearFake), relies on fraudulent error messages or verification prompts to convince users that something is wrong with their device and manipulate them into manually executing malicious commands, making these attacks harder to detect and more likely to bypass traditional security controls.

Our latest Commercial Insurance Profile explains how ClickFix attacks work and gives organisations tips on how to reduce their exposure to ClickFix attacks: https://www.mcib.net/commercial-insurance-profile-april-2026
