This was engineered specifically for Mercury V8 engines, addressing a common issue found in the factory air duct known as the “station wagon effect,” where exhaust fumes are inadvertently drawn into the engine through the rear sides of the cowling. This phenomenon can result in power loss and decreased top speed and a potential increase in fuel consumption. The USP Marine MAX+’s innovative forced air duct effectively prevents this issue by channeling clean, ram air from the top of the cowling, ensuring that unwanted exhaust fumes are pushed away from the intake.
