Open Letter to Federal Ministry of Health
As COVID-19 pandemic is infecting more and more people, as death toll is rising in unprecedented figure the world is panicked and many countries around the world are taking decisive measures to control the spread of infection.
As we all know, the science around COVID-19 is evolving daily as new researches and experience from clinical practices are coming out. Health professionals need access to internet to keep themselves updated and give recommended cares to their patients regarding this new fatal viral infection.
Our people in western part of Oromia in general, and health professionals in particular, lack access to internet due to internet blackout for months. It's too difficult for health professionals, if not impossible, to give any care, let alone standard, updated and adequate care to their patients under this condition.
In addition, our people there is not getting a tip of health tips you have been offering in social media platforms. This is worrisome and totally unacceptable. Therefore, the ministry should have strong stance on this, and urge high ranking government officials to unblock internet by explaining the extent of damage that would happen under current condition
