What David Refused to Leave to Chance
David moved from Manchester five years ago with his wife, Sarah, and their two children. They wanted sunshine, a slower pace of life, and a fresh start together. They bought a home on the Costa del Sol and felt they had finally made it.
Back in England, his parents were an hour's drive away. Here, they were a two-hour flight away. Now, they only had each other.
One afternoon, over coffee with a fellow British neighbour, David heard that someone from their community had died suddenly. His widow was left alone with a mortgage, paperwork in a language she barely spoke, and two children to raise. That night, David couldn't sleep. He realised he had never thought about what would happen to his family if he wasn't there.
The following week, he spoke to an insurance broker who explained everything in English, in plain terms, with no pressure. He took out a life insurance policy that cost less than what they spent on eating out each month.
Today, David has no doubts: "We moved to Spain to live better. Life insurance is what lets me live with peace of mind."
