Bodies are not flat. Bodies are not consistent. Bodies are not interested in your comfort.

APOF limbs (and the variations) let you practice:
stretching and working around anatomy
controlling lines through awkward curves
adapting your approach instead of forcing it

If you can keep it clean on a practice limb, you’re less likely to panic on a real human arm. That bleeds and stuff.

Also, tattooing a n**e, lifeless critter is objectively more motivating than staring into the blank void of fake skin.
