Dear All,

After just over 2 years with Proparco, it is time for me to say goodbye and see you soon,

Covering my home country the Democratic Republic of Congo ( ) on behalf of Proparco has been a fantastic mandate and a dream come true!

I am delighted to have been able to contribute to increasing Proparco's commitments in the DRC Congo and in Central Africa, particularly in Proparco's key areas of focus such as financial inclusion, agri-food and renewable energies,

I am also pleased to have worked with the Agence Française de Développement, Expertise France and Digital Africa teams in the DRC on innovative projects focused on women's entrepreneurship, on the cassava value chain and many others,

I hope that my collaborations with international and development agencies, chambers of commerce and professional bodies such as the Fédération des Entreprises du Congo and the MEDEF have also been highly productive, as symbolized by the appointment of the AFD Group as an honorary member of the French-Congolese Chamber of Commerce in June 2023, and the organization of the first DFI forum in the DRC in December 2021,

My financing and investment adventures will continue in Africa, particularly in French-speaking Africa (especially the DRC Congo), a region I'm particularly fond of.

I would like to thank you all for placing your trust in me through the various projects we've worked on together, and hope that I've highlighted the issues, challenges and opportunities available in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

For all upcoming inquiries relating to venture capital financing (especially pre-seed / seed and series A +) in Africa, please do not hesitate to contact me at [email protected] // Launch Africa Ventures

For all upcoming inquiries relating to African frontier markets financing (mainly in the DRC Congo for infrastructure / project finance and private equity transactions), I remain available on [email protected]

I will be back at the end of August for new investment adventures !

In the meantime, I'll be resting and taking care of my family Foundation (news to be released soon ^^), spending quality time with my folks and enjoying farniente!

See you soon,
Hannah

Hello Everyone!

The National Association of Private Equity and Venture Capital has been launched last Friday by a collective of DRC investors in the Democratic Republic of Congo and is named !

I am really pleased to be part of this initiative and see how we can all contribute to the further development of this industry in the country!

Many thanks to some of our peers from - Hatim Ben Ahmed // - Adesuwa Okunbo Rhodes and Cheikh-Souleymane Diallo for their guidance and support!

More news to come in the next few weeks!

For more information on the association and the DRC latest funding trends - please see below:

On Friday, July 7, 2023, the Association des Investisseurs en Capital in the Democratic Republic of Congo (“AIRDC”) has been launched by a collective of investment professionals. The founding members include individuals and/or organizations ranging from private equity funds and venture capital funds to business angels syndicates and development finance institutions

Among the first members (actual or affiliated) are representatives from Verdant Capital, Proparco, DRC Impact Angels, Crossboundary, Yetupic, and Groupe Betu.

This launch reflects the acceleration and growth of the financing industry in the DRC since 2021, which has seen an increase in both local and international deals as well as a diversification of the financial institutions investing in the country.

For instance, DRC has witnessed institutional investments from funds such as Adenia Partners, Launch Africa Ventures, Gaia Impact Fund, E3 Capital, the IFC - International Finance Corporation, and Proparco.

DRC has also witnessed the emergence of local managers such as Groupe Betu and DRC Impact Angels aiming at raising and mobilizing Congolese private capital in the country but also in the diaspora.

A growing number of international family offices, notably American and European ones, such as DALHAP, the Social Justice Fund, and Visible Hands, have participated in recent fund-raisings within Congolese structures.
