Happy people need happy masks!

During this lockdown The Balance Project has been doing what it does best: reinventing itself.

With social distancing norms in place we currently do not have any idea when we will be able to hold our next community gathering. It's a bit of a damper, since we were looking forward to celebrating our one year anniversary on the 18th of June. We quickly realized that this isn't a good excuse to stop bridging communities and bringing people together, and began brainstorming, keeping in mind the problems that are affecting our communities.

While everybody has been consuming art in all its forms during the last couple of months, most artists are in dire situations. With no money to pay their rent, and no idea when their next (mostly freelance) gig is going to be, we knew we had to come up with a quick solution to keep some of our favorite (and essential) people safe and healthy. And then our Chief Minister said that social distancing and masks will be necessary for the next two years.

All over the world right now masks are being used as a form of expression. Whether they make socio-political points, or they make statements of beauty and love, they are extremely important protective gear in these times of pandemic.

Here's our contribution in the form of our second batch of products. These are 100% pure double-layered cotton masks, hand painted by local artists, adorned with our signature purple lace strap, and each one is 100% unique. We worked hard on the design itself, as well, with a comfortable jawline cut that offers complete protection and a fitting shape, and a special point on the nose which allows the mask to sit comfortably on your face. 50% of the profits go directly to the artist who made them.

We are capping our quantities of each design, so you should book your special hand painted mask today!

We've restarted our a little differently this time ;)

Every Sunday we're looking for a new place to rig and these photos were from two weekends ago at Keri Beach in North Goa. It's quieter than our regular Sundays at Balance Park (Jardim Garcia de Orta) but it's giving us enough confidence to head back to the city soon enough!

This season was crazy, it's time to refocus and breathe. See you soon, Panjim!

Lalaland Festival was so rewarding!

aims to connect communities through the mediums of sport, music, and art and a community festival like LaLa Land, we believe, is integral to forming strong bonds between us as individuals. And let's be honest, getting a chance to chill with some cool kids is our idea of the perfect weekend.

The festival also gave us the opportunity to meet some really cool adults who, in their own way, pushed us to understand that what we do is appreciated by the community at large, they also made us fall in love with this community all over again.

With this Love we move forward.

For all those who were asking about regular gatherings and meet-ups: We are back, this time for good. Find us at Cirrus at Anjuna, GOA on Fridays and at Garcia de Orta, Panjim, on Sundays for some good ol' clean fun that gets you out of your house and meeting fantastic people of all ages and inclinations. We will also be holding regular workshops at several venues around the north, the first one will be initiated at Cirrus (because it's our heart) on the 23rd of November.

For registration details get in touch with Anika on +91 9405589437

A huge thank you to all those who made this possible: Eric Nikhil Costabir Anveer Mehta and Allister who were at the lines and handling the little monkeys with such dexterity it amazed us, you guys are amazing! And a special shout out to Deep Kashyap Deka who came up with the idea and connected us. So much

The Balance Project = TBP = The Bigger Picture.

We believe in connecting communities through the mediums of sport, music, and art, and therefore we work with a number of communities and individuals to achieve our vision. Our Founder, Anika Proença, is a poet at heart and she fell in love with Slackline as a sport and as a metaphor. It's now time to lay our Foundation Stone as the Bridge between hearts that we can see is desperately required in Goa and in India.

We have been taking it easy since our inception on the 18th of June (Goa's Revolution Day), and the more we practiced our , , and in the last couple of months, the more The Bigger Picture automatically fell into place like a jigsaw puzzle that was itching to complete itself.

The Balance Project is proud to announce a number of associations with communities (tangible and intangible) that we firmly believe have the ability to change our world. We have met a number of fantastic people who have made their way into our hearts and minds as family, and the staircase that we required to be built for our new world is now nearing completion.

As the days and weeks roll by you will be hearing a lot more from us, including three amazing Slackliners (and souls) coming down for a very special event that's happening next week. Lower your centre of gravity, find your focus, strengthen your core, breathe, smile, balance, walk the line one step at a time, and stay tuned for more.

This is just the beginning.

'Twas a bright and sunny day in Panjim City after a long time last evening. What started off as *maybe* three people rigging ended up exploding into quite a fun gathering.

It's always a pleasure when like-minded friends and family from the community get together to play and bond. And we at find ourselves extremely fortunate to have some of the best people around.

Shout out to the athletes who turned up and taught the kids who wanted to learn, and to Deep Kashyap Deka and Rahul Khurana of Goa Underground Radio who were itching to play some beats, but unfortunately could not. There's always next Sunday!
