Happy people need happy masks!
During this lockdown The Balance Project has been doing what it does best: reinventing itself.
With social distancing norms in place we currently do not have any idea when we will be able to hold our next community gathering. It's a bit of a damper, since we were looking forward to celebrating our one year anniversary on the 18th of June. We quickly realized that this isn't a good excuse to stop bridging communities and bringing people together, and began brainstorming, keeping in mind the problems that are affecting our communities.
While everybody has been consuming art in all its forms during the last couple of months, most artists are in dire situations. With no money to pay their rent, and no idea when their next (mostly freelance) gig is going to be, we knew we had to come up with a quick solution to keep some of our favorite (and essential) people safe and healthy. And then our Chief Minister said that social distancing and masks will be necessary for the next two years.
All over the world right now masks are being used as a form of expression. Whether they make socio-political points, or they make statements of beauty and love, they are extremely important protective gear in these times of pandemic.
Here's our contribution in the form of our second batch of products. These are 100% pure double-layered cotton masks, hand painted by local artists, adorned with our signature purple lace strap, and each one is 100% unique. We worked hard on the design itself, as well, with a comfortable jawline cut that offers complete protection and a fitting shape, and a special point on the nose which allows the mask to sit comfortably on your face. 50% of the profits go directly to the artist who made them.
We are capping our quantities of each design, so you should book your special hand painted mask today!
