Idea Incubator at UBC The club aims to encourage and help students to make their ideas into realization and share their ta And they will invest in the ideas of students.

Idea Incubator aims to encourage students to have business ideas and help those who already have mature notions. In order to achieve this, we will look for speakers from business firms, schedule tours at business firms and hold events that expose students to a business atmosphere. Secondly, once the ideas are mature enough, we will provide expertise and financial support from companies and sponsor

s. The club is a platform to guide students and to evaluate their ideas in terms of market potential. In term of financial support, the club will attract funds from external companies and sponsors. More over, we serve as a platform for people who have business ideas to search for potential collaborators who have their desired skills. We will create personal profiles for each member in terms of their skills and areas of interests. Lastly, we realize the importance of philanthropy in future businessman, and hope to instil a sense of responsibility into the students that we help. And we have come up with a unique way to fundraise for charities: by advising individuals (those who succeed through the club's support) to donate a portion of their profit to a local organization or charity upon agreement of the club and the individual. But it is also important to note that, the club will not be profiting in any way.

MEET THE EXECUTIVES!!!

Meet Jaenna - Creative/Media Director

Jaenna is a 2nd year student at the University of British Columbia with a passion for telling stories though music, film, and art. She is excited to be working as the Creative/Media Director for the Idea Incubator and looking forward to providing great opportunities for others through the events ahead. In addition to her love of storytelling, she is also interested in entrepreneurship and works towards helping others. In 2010, she founded the KMBK Foundation, a charity for the less fortunate Youth in Manila and seeks to make a difference by feeding and educating these youth. In her spare time, you’ll probably find her making music covers/vlogs on her YouTube Channel: JaennaCProductions, blogging on her website Jaenna.com, or making films.

Meet Allan Ng - Public Relations Director

This rare (second year) member of the species Ingeniarius Mechanica (Mechanical Engineer) stick together as they work from dusk ‘til dawn. If not found in Engineering territory, Allan can be spotted longboarding down Main Mall in his pursuit of happiness. He has found alternative refuge in the heart of the UBC Heart and Stroke Foundation Club as a Director, and now Idea Inc. as well. Unique traits of Allan arise from his first sightings, in the world of Badminton; representing BC at the 2015 Canada Winter Games and for Canada at the 2014 World Junior Championships, alongside partner Alexa Wu, but has been documented to casually enjoy Cooking, Tennis, Ping Pong and Dance.

Won Jun Kong- Business Director

Won is a second year student in Sauder with an ambition to become the most successful businessman in the world one day. Won just loves talking about entrepreneurship and start-ups. He was exposed to entrepreneurship since his childhood through reading and watching success stories of entrepreneurs. As a Business Director, he can’t wait to look through the amazing business ideas that you will come up with and work together to make those ideas into a reality.

Fun fact: Won is from Korea and his name spells exactly the same as his currency, Korean Won (₩) That’s just one of his million nicknames.

Alexa Wu - Public Relations Director

Alexa is a first year Sauder student with a passion for innovation and business. She’s really excited to be the Public Relations Director for Idea Incubator at UBC and she’s looking forward to hearing many great project ideas from club members. Some of her interests include music, badminton, and exploring delicious places to eat in Vancouver. She also enjoys watching TV shows related to the tech world, such as Silicon Valley and Mr. Robot.
