The Rotman Commerce Finance Association (RCFA) is an undergraduate student-run organization that prepares students for successful careers in the finance industry and also equips them with the confidence to achieve their personal goals. Known for its ability to build lasting relationships with students, RCFA is a well-respected, invaluable window into the world of finance for undergraduate students in the Rotman Commerce program. RCFA recognizes that education ought to extend far beyond the classroom. Thus, we strive to provide students with valuable opportunities to expand their knowledge on topics in finance that aren’t necessarily taught in the classroom to better prepare them for life upon graduation. We feel that our initiatives will provide students with the insight and practical experience necessary to determine whether or not a career in finance is a feasible option for them.

Hey Everyone!

RCFA is excited to announce the Commerce Trading Competition that is happening on November 25th, from 9AM-1PM EST. The Commerce Trading Competition (CTC) is a fun and interactive event that will allow students to apply trading strategies and knowledge attained in class into real-time simulations using the Rotman Interactive Trader (RIT) program. CTC will provide a unique hands-on experience for students to understand a typical day in the Sales and Trading sector. Prior to the competition day, there will be workshops provided by the Finance Research and Trading Lab on how to use the RIT program. The competition will consist of individual trading heats for each member to partake in.

No previous trading experience is required for the competition. Prior to the competition day, there will be identical workshops provided by the Financial Research and Trading Lab on how to use the RIT program. Two workshops will be hosted on Tuesday, November 16th from 11am-12pm as well as a later session from 9pm-10pm. Each team is required to attend one of the two sessions. If you have missed the training session, please reach out to [email protected] after purchasing a ticket for a recording of the session.

Important Note: Team can consist of 1-4 members. Each member has to purchase a ticket on Universe individually and fill out the below forms after.

Interested in learning about a career in finance and looking for a way to connect with the Rotman Community?

RCFA will be hosting a virtual club day on Thursday, September 2nd via zoom meeting. The event is open to all first years, and you will have a chance to speak to executive members at RCFA.

Are you a first-year student who is interested in learning about careers in finance and looking for a way to connect with others in the Rotman Commerce community?

The Rotman Commerce Finance Association is hiring 8 First-Year Interns for our 2021-2022 team!

As an intern, you will take part in a bi-weekly training program covering a range of topics from resume editing to technical workshops. The training program will help you gain a better understanding of the finance industry and be prepared for different careers in the field. In addition, each intern will be paired up with an upper-year mentor from RCFA to support your transition to university.

You will also be working with RCFA’s four main committees: Events, Marketing, Finance, and Corporate Relations, and have the opportunity to host RCFA’s annual Forays Into Finance event.

Interns are expected to attend all RCFA meetings and events throughout the year.
