Seagull 12-String #4: Fingerboard Scraping + Lubrication 🧼

Scrapy scrapy.

I’m scraping the board. I’m scraping the side of the neck. I’m lubricating the fingerboard and the bridge.

Why? Because I said so.

Cheeky? Yes. Absurd? A little. Effective? Absolutely. This is the kind of unglamorous detail work that makes a guitar feel smoother, play cleaner, and stay happier over time.

Jeff’s Gibson Les Paul: Return + Reveal ✨

This is the big one.

After a full teardown, cleanup, and detail work, I finally got to hand Jeff his Les Paul back and see his reaction. He was genuinely blown away, said it looks brand new, and this guitar is over 20 years old.

Jeff and I go back 35 years, so moments like this hit different. This is exactly why I do what I do. A proper setup and careful restoration can give you that “new guitar feeling” from an old, neglected instrument.

Jeff's Les Paul - Part 13: Nut & Saddle Lubrication 🧈

Breaking news: Dry nuts are bad. Saucy nuts are good.

Your nut slots need to flow freely so strings glide smoothly without binding. Binding = tuning problems. Solution? Big Bends Nut Sauce.

Watch as we lubricate every slot and saddle. Happy saddles = stable tuning = happy playing.

This is the kind of detail most people miss. We don't.
