If you're incorporated, you've probably got retained earnings sitting in a GIC, a market account, or just piling up in the corporation.

Is that really the best it can do? For most owners, no.

On Wednesday, October 28 at 7pm ET / 4pm PT, Greg Rozdeba and Jeff Sagert walk through the six places that cash can go, with the honest trade-off on each and three owner cases on screen.

Free, 60 minutes, live Q&A.

Incorporated. Over 40. Paying yourself a T4 salary.

If that's you, there is a retirement structure built for your situation: a defined-benefit pension your corporation sponsors, with contribution room calculated from your age instead of a flat cap. The corporation makes the contributions and deducts them.

For the right person it's excellent. For everyone else it's overkill. Tomorrow night's session tells you which one you are, including the costs, the lock-in, and who shouldn't bother.

With Greg Rozdeba (CEO, Dundas Wealth) and Fraser Lang (SVP, GBL Inc., IPP specialists).

A 30-year-old employee and a 60-year-old business owner get the exact same RRSP limit.

18% of income, capped, whether retirement is 35 years away or five.

If you're incorporated, over 40 and paying yourself a salary, there is a structure where the limit is calculated from your age instead. It rises every year, and your corporation funds it and deducts the contributions. It's called an Individual Pension Plan, and most owners have never had one explained to them.

On Tuesday, Greg Rozdeba and Fraser Lang (SVP, GBL Inc., IPP specialists) walk through how it works, what it costs, and who shouldn't bother.

"My business is my retirement plan." Frank Restorick, CFP®, hears it every week. Then he asks: who's going to buy it, and for how much? That's usually where the room goes quiet.

Where a real plan starts: when you want out, what income you need, and what's already in your RRSP, TFSA and CPP.
