Being a step mom is an incredible thing . (I've never liked the word 'step' so we usually go by mom #2). I get to be the coach, mentor, outside voice of reason, sounding board, confident and so much more. Thank you for bringing the most amazing into my life and for giving me such an amazing gift. Happy Mother's Day to all the mom and mom out there.

This...this is so much of what is wrong today. Why are young women or even old(er) women asked to put themselves into one of these archetypes or any archetype for that matter. Why are there only 4 'typical examples of a certain person or thing' and who decided that they should be SO limiting! I challenge the world to do better. To be better. To lead by example. If there must be archetypes let's make them 'intelligent' 'empathetic' 'brilliant' 'leader'... any of those would do. We need to support each other and bring up the next generation of women be strong, confident and independent.
