I held a Business training with a lemonade stand for a few girls on the street... here are the results:

They created $38 in a few hours which was impressive.

Even more impressive, was the problem-solving skills they showed when nobody was stopping at the lemonade stand.

I encouraged them to think outside the box and create some attention and when people were walking or driving by… almost like marketing 😉

The girls created some signs, with two different prices and some attention grabbing headlines. Then proceeded to walk up to each passerby to greet them and make them an initial offer which worked well.

As cars drove by the other girls, stood on the curb and jumped up and down, forcing the cars to slow down and read the signs.. which prompted several cars to pull over and pay them a visit.

I imagine the $38 hall would have been 4x if we were on a busy street instead of a quiet neighborhood drive.

Maybe a lesson for another day

We all celebrated Mother’s Day with a hearty breakfast. One of our favorite spots is a restaurant called pure and simple, do you have an interesting menu that goes beyond just bacon and eggs. The kids affectionately have named displays “rainbows and sunshine” for the rainbow pancakes!

We took a stroll by the lake and let the kids burn off some energy in the park.

Our morning adventure ended a bit abruptly… While I was teaching the kids how to skip rocks on the lake, our little one used her precise aim to hit someone else in the head. Luckily, nobody was seriously hurt, but that was the queue to head back home and rest 😬
