There are places you visit… and then there are places that awaken something deep within you.

This Holla Mohalla, my family and I had the blessing of visiting Shri Anandpur Sahib — the sacred land where courage, faith, and sacrifice echo through every street.

Holla Mohalla isn’t just a festival. It’s a living legacy started by Guru Gobind Singh in 1701 — a powerful reminder that spirituality and strength go hand in hand. Watching the Nihang Singhs display Gatka, mock battles, horse riding skills, and fearless spirit was like seeing history come alive before our eyes.

As we walked through the streets filled with “Bole So Nihal” jaikare, I felt something I can’t fully describe — pride, gratitude, and humility all at once. The sound of nagaras, the sight of saffron bana, the energy of sangat from across the world… it wasn’t just an event. It was an experience for the soul.

Standing near Takht Sri Keshgarh Sahib, one of the five Takhts of Sikhism, I reminded my family that this is the very place where the Khalsa was created in 1699. This soil has witnessed sacrifice, discipline, and unmatched bravery. Being there with my loved ones made it even more special — because faith feels stronger when shared.

Langar served with love. Strangers treating you like family. Seva happening everywhere without ego. In a world that often feels divided, Anandpur Sahib teaches unity, courage, and selfless service.

For our children, this wasn’t just a trip — it was a lesson. A lesson in identity. In resilience. In standing up for truth. In remembering who we are and where we come from.

Holla Mohalla reminded me that real strength is built on faith. Real wealth is built on values. And real legacy is what we pass on to the next generation.
