So many people will be left out of homeownership in the coming years simply because they wont be able to afford down-payments on homes that have been wildly inflated since the covid real-estate streak.

More and more, young homebuyers are relying on family gifts and inheritance to secure home ownership.

Although homeownership in Sault Ste. Marie is relatively affordable compared to larger cities in Canada, it can still be a struggle
for many families who traditionally would have been able to save enough for a down payment and closing costs on a home here 10 years ago.

The need for affordable housing is real.
