Today, we wear orange to honour the children who never returned home, the Survivors of residential schools, their families, and the Indigenous communities who continue to carry the lasting impacts of this painful history.
Orange Shirt Day is more than a moment of recognition. It is a reminder of the importance of listening, learning, and standing together in the spirit of truth, healing, and reconciliation. These conversations can be difficult, but they are necessary. Days like today help ensure that the stories, experiences, and voices of Indigenous Peoples are acknowledged, respected, and never forgotten.
In light of recent events, our commitment to supporting people with compassion, understanding, and respect remains unwavering. We stand in solidarity with Indigenous communities and reaffirm that we are here for everyone, ready to help in any way we can. Real reconciliation happens not only through reflection, but through meaningful action, empathy, and a shared commitment to building stronger communities together.
Today, and every day, we encourage learning, understanding, and open hearts. Recognition matters. Remembrance matters. Truth matters. And reconciliation remains a journey we must all take together.
