You do not necessarily need a science background to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Many nursing programs accept students from a variety of academic backgrounds. While some programs require specific prerequisite courses, a previous degree in science is not always required.

For example, some post-degree nursing programs accept applicants with any recognized bachelor’s degree, provided they meet the program’s admission requirements and prerequisite courses.

If nursing is your dream, don’t let your academic background discourage you. Research the admission requirements of the schools you are interested in—you may be more eligible than you think!
