Couples that can agree on 4 things have a very high probability of staying together (if they agree on these 4 things before marriage).

1. Money

The number one cause of divorce in North America is money fights and money problems. So you’ve got to get on the same page: What are we going to do with our money, how are we going to handle it, and what’s our plan for debt, saving, investing, etc?

2. Faith

Agree on religion, be in the same religion and regularly attend a house of worship of your religion, whatever it is.

3. Kids

Are we having kids? How many?
How are we going to raise them, and who’s running point in the home? Get clear before you get married.

4. In-Laws and Extended Family

How are we going to deal with the in-laws? His mom, her dad, all that stuff. You’ve got to talk about it now so it doesn’t blow up later.

If you can be in agreement on these 4 things before you walk down the aisle, your probability of your marriage sticking is very high.
