Today's update - the Bank of Canada did not change their overnight rate.

This IS stability...stability for those with a variable/adjustable mortgage, a HELOC or a personal line of credit.

What about those with a fixed rate?
~ nothing is happening to your current rate, nor would it had their been a change.

What about those that want a fixed rate going forward?
~ this is not the rate to watch.

Fixed rates are not impacted by the overnight rate.
Fixed rates can change weekly...daily even.
The variables behind a change in a fixed rate are many, and very tough to predict in our current economic and political climate.

All of this to say - don't read the news and think your future fixed rate is stable and predictable.

Bill 60 just passed in Ontario and whether you’re renting, owning or thinking about owning, it’s worth knowing how it could affect you. 

The process around evictions, renewals and appeals is changing, and it could also encourage more rental units to come to market over time.
That might feel uncertain for some and like opportunity for others, and both are completely valid.

This is not me saying an investment property is ideal for everyone.
I just want you to have information, perspective and support in making choices that feel good financially.
