4th Annual GPHSF Charity Bonspiel in partnership with Imprinted Apparel Store

Yes, we are offering a Black Friday 2 for 1 deal.

No, we are not saving you any money.

Our 2 for 1 Black Friday deal is a bit different.

Give the gift of Curling this Christmas by registering your loved one (and yourself, we assume) in the GPHSF Charity Bonspiel in Partnership with Imprinted Apparel Store, Saturday February 14th 2026 at the Peterborough Curling Club.

By registering in the Bonspiel for Christmas, you will also have your Valentines Day plans covered too! We think that’s an awesome 2 for 1 deal. Plus, we are saving you time and effort. This could be the best Black Friday deal you see today.

Only 12 spots are available. Click here to take advantage of this limited time offer (before December 25th). After that it just becomes a 1 for 1 deal.

We have a lot of fun with this Bonspiel, but the funds raised support some serious programming in our community. Funds raised from this event will continue our mission to broaden health equity and access to healthcare for the residents in Peterborough City and County as well as Hiawatha and Curve Lake First Nations. Funds will support our partnership with the Peterborough Family Health Team, along with many other community organizations we work with.

Registration is open now through www.GPHSF.ca. Registration is $300, with a $60 tax receipt. The day includes two games along with breakfast and lunch. Participants can win their share of over $2000 in prizes provided by Imprinted Apparel Store and $500 in prizes provided by Goldline. EVERYONE will win a prize. Guaranteed to be the best prize table you see at any Bonspiel.

There will be other activities such as Ruttle Group Chuck-A-Rock, Trivia challenges, raffle draws, co****le boards, and many other opportunities to win prizes, all while supporting community-based healthcare.

Take advantage of this amazing 2 for 1 deal now! Click here to register.
Sponsorship opportunities also available. Please email [email protected] for more details.

Please share so that we may be able to help those in need.

Gratitude after loss doesn’t mean pretending everything is okay.
Sometimes it’s as simple as noticing a small moment of calm — a quiet morning, a kind word, or the strength to make one more decision today.

At Empowered Path, we help people find that same calm and clarity in their finances, one step at a time.

If you or someone you care about is navigating change, we’re here when you’re ready.

About The Canadian Canoe Museum
The Canadian Canoe Museum, located on the Traditional Territory of the Williams Treaties First Nations in Peterborough, Ontario, has stewarded, for the last 25 years, the world’s largest and most significant collection of canoes, kayaks, and paddled watercraft. More than 600 in number, these watercraft and their stories have a pivotal role in understanding our past and our collective future. As part of the Museum’s responsibility for this cultural asset of national significance (Senate of Canada, 2013), we have built a new 65,000-square-foot home that aspires to be as innovative as the canoe itself. Named one of the Best Cultural Spots on National Geographic’s Best of the World 2024, the brand’s annual guide of the most exciting, meaningful, and one-of-a-kind travel experiences for 2024!

Land acknowledgement
The Canadian Canoe Museum respectfully acknowledges that we are situated on the Treaty 20 Michi Saagiig territory and the traditional territory covered by the Williams Treaties First Nations. The Canadian Canoe Museum also recognizes the contributions of Indigenous Peoples including First Nations, Inuit and Métis, in shaping this community and country as a whole.
As an organization that stewards the world’s largest and most significant collection of canoes, kayaks & paddled watercraft, we will honour and share the cultural histories and stories within the collection in all that we do.

For Immediate Release August 8th 2024: Today the Greater Peterborough Health Services Foundation (GPHSF) announced its new Senior Care Micro Grant program. Two grants are currently available to support senior care projects and healthy aging initiatives within the Peterborough area. Deadline to apply is September 30th 2024. Find out more about the grants and criteria below. Apply for the grant through our website at https://www.gphsf.ca/seniorcaremicrogrant/

Senior Care Micro Grants – Background

When the Greater Peterborough Health Services Foundation was first established (originally called St. Joseph’s Care Foundation) in 1999, its primary focus was to fund senior care projects and healthy aging initiatives within the Peterborough Community. Over the years the Foundation has grown, taken on new partnerships, and expanded its focus (also taking on the name GPHSF, Your Family Health Team Foundation), however senior care has remained a primary and important focus for funding.

Our new Senior Care Micro Grant program is meant to be a low barrier applicant process. The grants can be used as seed money to address a new need or as financial support to an existing program in Peterborough City, County, Hiawatha First Nation and Curve Lake First Nation. There are two grants available, with up to $5000 in funding available with each grant.

These grants have been made possible due to funding provided by the June Towle Trust. June Towle passed away in 2023. As part of her legacy, she established the June Towle Trust that would see money from her estate be donated to the Greater Peterborough Health Services Foundation upon her passing. We greatly appreciate these legacy funds that June left to the Foundation and hope to honour June’s memory through our micro grant program. To find out more on how you can create a legacy trust of your own to make a meaningful healthcare impact in our community, please contact the Foundation at [email protected]

Senior Care Micro Grants – Criteria

Applications are open to community and not-for-profit organizations, including medical organizations, that run programming and services, or are proposing to run programming and services, within the boundaries of Peterborough City and/or Peterborough County, Hiawatha First Nation and Curve Lake First Nation.

Proposed projects must be general in scope (inclusive of and impactful on as many people as possible). Project completion must occur within one (1) year of approval unless extension is granted by Greater Peterborough Health Services Foundation. Grant funding can be applied to existing projects or used as seed money for new projects.

Maximum of $5000 available for each grant. A maximum of $10,000 is available across all grants (two total).

Project timeline and budget must be provided.
Senior Care micro grant projects may include.

- Research
- Equipment
- Nutrition
- Physical Activity
- Mental Health

Priority will be given to projects that:

• Have a lasting impact on our community.
• Support emerging needs in our community.
• Improve the quality of life for seniors in the community.

Please note that all grant applications must be from a not-for-profit charitable organization, with charitable registration number, and located in and/or serving the City or County of Peterborough.

Apply now through https://www.gphsf.ca/seniorcaremicrogrant/
