When I decided to join the mortgage industry, the advice I was given was not to expect much business in the first six months. It was good advice that helped me set realistic expectations.

Today, at exactly the six-month mark, I’m honoured to share that I’ve been recognized by my brokerage with two awards: Agent of the Month and Mortgage Influencer of the Month.

So, my advice to anyone thinking about joining the industry is this: this business will give back exactly what you put into it. Work hard, stay focused, commit fully, and the sky is the limit.

Thank you to my friends, family, clients, and mentors who have supported me along the way. I'm still at the start of my journey, but I'm excited to see what the next six months (and beyond) will bring!

The Bank of Canada holds its lending rate at 2.75%.
What does this mean for borrowers? Borrowers on variable rate mortgages will see no change to their payments as these rates are tied directly to the BoC rate.

A common question is how do we get the best possible rate? There are a lot of factors but these are a few of the most relevant:
📈credit score: a score above 680 is ideal
💰income: stable employment and income puts lenders at ease
💵down payment: a lower loan to value ratio is less risky for lenders

The #1 way to ensure you get the best rate: shop around! Let a mortgage agent pair you with the right lender.

The Bank of Canada is expected to make a rate announcement this week, and the jury is out on what might happen. Some economists are expecting another cut while others predict they will hold the current rate.
