I hope you like what you see :) So a little about me. I have been doing hair since I was 10 years old. Aside from my balding Barbies, I would highlight my Mom's hair with a cap and crochet hook. I went to a Trade School for high school and was fortunate enough to study cosmetology the whole time I was there. It was around that age I started playing with synthetic hair. I have been doing braid ext
ensions for 16 years and making dreads for about 9 years. My braids and dreads are very durable. They will last the maximum 3-6 weeks that they are to be left in for. I steam my dreads twice, sometimes 3 times depending on the type of hair. The dreads are reusable as well. I have a few clients who have had the same set reinstalled 7+ times. Braids:
I typically just braid the hair into your own hair. This is a 5-10 hour process depending on what size of braid you want and the thickness of your hair. I won't do pinch/micro braids because those can take 20+ hours and I won't book appointments of that length. There is no limit of colours you can use. I buy all my hair from Ikickshins.net as well as a couple other companies both online and locally. If you want a braided colour scheme of 3,4 or more colours I will not charge you extra. I am a very skilled and very quick braider. I have never taken longer than 8 hours to braid someone's hair unless they requested mermaid braids. When doing Mermaid braids, I double up on hair so that the hair falls past your posterior. I charge by the hour rather than by quantity as there is no prep work involved in braid installs. I charge 20$/hour you sit, not including breaks, of course ( if you need them.) So:
5 hours= 100$
7 hours= 140$
9 hours= 180$
Dreads:
As I mentioned before, they are double, sometimes triple, steamed and very durable. The process for your custom dread order is as follows:
- Message me with the colour, type and quantity of dreads you want. Feel free to ask me anything!
- If I don't have the colour in stock I will let you know and I will order it. I will let you know as soon as it arrives.
- I will post one or two progress pictures before I send them out or before you come over to have them installed.
- Finally, I will ship them or install them for you. The pricing for dreads is different because there is more prep work. I do NOT charge for multiple colours. I don't charge extra for dread thickness unless they are like 2 inches thick or something crazy
I make Double and Single Ended dreads. If you are unsure of what they are or which you would need, message me and I will help you determine which would be best for you. I always find that whether you have dreads or not, it just comes down to personal preference. They do not differ in cost. Dreads come in many different styles. The kind I have worked with the most are: Transitionals, Candy Cane, Striped, and Curly/wavy. I can also make harlequins but they only apply to Double Ended dreads. I don't charge extra for any of these dread designs either. Every dread maker is different but for me it comes down to quantity since the more I make, the more time I consume.
20 dreads= 60$
30 dreads= 80$
40 dreads= 100$
50 dreads= 130$
60 dreads= 160$
70 dreads= 180$
80 dreads= 190$
90 dreads= 220$
100 dreads= 250$
The reason I started at 20 dreads is because anything less than that is considered an accent kit. Accent kits can be requested in any length, size, design or colour scheme and will always remain 2$/dread. I do NOT charge for the first installation. It is included in the price above as is the cost of hair. I DO charge for reinstallation. When you decide you want your set put back in, I will be happy to do it! I charge the same for dread reinstallation as I do for braids. 20$/hour. It takes no more than 3 hours to do a dread install. I can install approximately 30 dreads an hour. I will post links to the I Kick Shins website and colour chart since that is where I order from the most. Their hair is the best quality. It makes the best dreads. They also have the most colour range. I also make clip in hair extensions. I can make accent pieces for highlight/lowlights and I can make full heads!
