WOW!!
What a crazy month! We hope that you are keeping well. We are sure you are overwhelmed with all the news that is going on currently. We have been inundated with questions and we thought wewould take a moment to summarize some thoughts, please do feel free to reach out to us if you have any additional questions or concerns.

1. For those of you who are rushing to finish off your taxes, you can take a little bit of a breather as they have extended the deadline to June 1st 2020. IF There is tax owing you have till July 31st to make the payment. 2. As you know the Bank of Canada had made a rate drop of 50BPS at their regular scheduled meeting. Shortly after that they made an ADDITIONAL 50bps emergency rate drop to help the economy. This means that BOC (Bank of Canada) prime is at 0.75% and bank prime is at 2.95%. PLEASE TAKE NOTE: Bank prime can be different for different banks! This is when you need to be extra vigilant, if you are looking to renew or get a new mortgage, please speak to me before you proceed to make sure you have the correct information to move forward.

5. For those of you who have a mortgage with the big 6 banks, they are rolling out a deferral package where you can put your mortgage on hold for 6 months. IWe understand that there is a lot of uncertainty during this time, however we are confident that the government will do what is needed to help assist us all through this time. Regardless, it is evident that the market has taken a severe beating but please be reassured that once things start calming down the market will readjust itself, it may take a little longer to recover to where it was but your investments are being held long term and time will help.
