After a summer of BBQs, ice cream and a few extra treats, back-to-school season can be a good time to ease back into healthier routines.
One easy place to start?
The lunchbox.
A few simple swaps can help us add more whole foods into our day while relying a little less on highly processed snacks:
• chips → veggies + hummus
• fruit snacks → fresh fruit
• sugary drinks → water or milk
• cookies → yogurt or energy bites
• packaged snacks → cheese, whole-grain crackers or nuts/seeds where allowed
And parents/adults, this is for us too.
We all know a little prep can make busy days easier when we have nourishing grab-and-go options ready.
One of my favourites is the No-Bake Energy Bites from Gimme Some Oven. I’ve attached the recipe if you want to try them.
Sometimes it’s the small swaps that add up over time.

Tisha
