What’s legal — and what counts as “impaired driving”
• For fully-licensed drivers (regular G licence), the legal blood alcohol concentration (BAC) limit is under 0.08% (i.e. under 80 mg alcohol per 100 ml of blood).
• If your BAC is between 0.05% and 0.079%, you are in the so-called “warn range” — even if not over the legal threshold, you can still face administrative penalties if caught.
• For certain drivers, the rules are far stricter:
• Novice drivers (license classes G1, G2, M1, M2)
• Drivers under age 21
• Commercial vehicle drivers (e.g. truck or bus drivers)
— for them, the BAC limit is 0.00%. That means no alcohol at all when driving.
• The definition of impaired driving also includes drugs — prescription, over-the-counter, cannabis, illegal substances — or any combination of alcohol + drugs. Driving under any of those impairments is illegal.

Your bills and expenses don’t stop just because you are hospitalized. Make sure you and your family are covered with a hospital plan due to any accident or sickness so you don’t stress and get behind on your bills.
