Honoured to attend today’s Desjardins International Women’s Conference – “Lift As We Climb.”
It was a wonderful day celebrating the strength, resilience, and leadership of women.
When I entered the financial industry just over a decade ago, I remember attending my first large conference. I looked around the room and realized I was one of the very few women there. It was both intimidating and motivating & it made me realize how important it is for women to continue supporting one another and creating space at the table...
Today it was shared that only 18% of financial advisors in Canada are women. While progress has certainly been made, there is still work to be done to encourage more women to enter the industry and feel confident in these roles.
But today wasn’t just about women in finance. It was about all women — no matter what path they choose. Whether leading businesses, raising families, teaching, caregiving, creating, building communities, or pursuing their passions, women everywhere contribute in powerful ways every single day.
The message of the day — Lift As We Climb — is such an important reminder that when one woman succeeds, we all move forward together 🤍
