It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of iconic sled builder David Ostendorf. Dave was a racer in his youth and a builder in his later years. Among many builds, most notably, he was the man behind the first ever built Outlaw 600 and a catalyst in the development of the class. He also created the Davco Ice Oval Racing Series to help Kickstart the class. He was a man of great knowledge, and he will be truly be missed.

I feel very blessed to have known him and honored to still be racing his 0001 Outlaw 600.

The Snowmobile Racing community has lost an icon.

It is with a heavy heart to post the passing of David "Dave" Ostendorf.

Dave was a pioneer in the snowmobile racing community and the builder of the first Outlaw 600 chassis in collaboration with another iconic builder, John Hooper.

He was also the man behind the Davco Ice Oval Racing Series and a catalyst during the inception of the class. Dave was not only a builder but in his youth, a great racer as well. His knowledge of Snowmobile racing and building was immeasurable.
