As a local BC insurance broker, I’ve seen firsthand how devastating wildfires can be for families and communities.

With wildfires affecting communities across British Columbia this summer, I wanted to do something beyond simply talking about wildfire preparedness and insurance.

I’ve started a personal fundraiser for the Canadian Red Cross 2026 British Columbia Wildfires Appeal. If you’re able to contribute, even a small donation can help support people affected by the wildfires.

And if you’re not in a position to donate, sharing the fundraiser can help too.

Thank you to everyone who contributes or helps spread the word.

Condo insurance can be confusing.

Between your own insurance policy and your strata corporation’s policy, it’s not always clear what’s covered, or who pays when something goes wrong.

I often hear questions like:

• Why do I need my own insurance?
• What if my neighbour floods my unit?
• Can my strata charge me their deductible?

If you’ve ever wondered about those questions, I’ve put together a guide that explains how condo insurance works in BC.

📖 Read it here:

Do you need condo insurance in BC? Learn how insurance works for condos, townhouses, and strata duplexes, including strata insurance, renovations, water damage, and deductible assessments.

💰 Saving money on insurance is great… until the cheapest policy leaves you paying the most after a claim.

Every day I see ads promising low premiums and huge savings. While saving money is important, the lowest price doesn’t always mean you’re getting the right protection.

A policy that’s missing the coverage you actually need can end up costing far more than the premium you saved.

Before you switch insurers or renew your policy, take a few minutes to review:
✅ What’s covered
✅ What’s excluded
✅ Your deductibles
✅ Your liability limits
✅ Any endorsements or optional coverages

The goal isn’t to have the cheapest insurance, it’s to have the right insurance when you need it most.

Have you reviewed your policy in the last year, or do you usually just renew it? Let me know in the comments. 👇

If you’d like a second opinion on your current coverage, I’m always happy to review it with you.
