We’re excited to see local businesses benefiting from our Business Growth Fund partnership with the Kitimat Chamber of Commerce.

The Business Growth Fund was developed through consultation with the Chamber and its members to better understand and respond to the unique challenges facing local businesses. Building on the LNG Canada Business Rebate Program, we listened to feedback from the business community to identify additional areas where support was needed, reduce barriers to accessing funding, and help local businesses grow and thrive.

Since 2023, we’re proud to have provided $380,000 through these programs to support local businesses, and we look forward to continuing to see the impact of these investments across the community.

Community Notification: Planned Flaring

LNG Canada advises that planned intermittent flaring that was anticipated from October 9 to October 13, has now been extended to October 16 with an expected flare height of approximately 10 to 30 metres. Associated noise and visible emissions may occur during this period. This is associated with ongoing maintenance and start-up activities.

Flaring is a provincially regulated safety measure that ensures the controlled, efficient combustion of natural gas during specific operational phases. It is a critical part of safely operating a facility of this scale and is not expected to be routine during regular operation.

Do you have questions? We want to hear from you. To contact us, please visit: lngcanada.ca/contact or call 1-833-632-LNGC (5642). For more information on LNG Canada flaring activities, visit: lngcanada.ca/what-we-do/operations/safe-start-up/

Healthy communities start with access to quality healthcare. Through our ongoing partnership with the Kitimat General Hospital Foundation, LNG Canada is investing in equipment and resources that make a difference, including our recent donation of a bedside ultrasound machine to support Acute Care services at the hospital.

LNG Canada Gift Helps Bring Advanced Emergency Care Closer to Home

October 2026 – Thanks to the incredible generosity of LNG Canada at the 2025 KGHF Gala last fall, we were able to purchase this important piece of equipment for our hospital.

There is often a journey between a generous donation and having new equipment on hand and ready to use.

That journey is complete, and our emergency team has POCUS (Point of Care Ultrasound Machine) available when they need it.

This portable ultrasound allows staff to quickly look inside the body, identify serious conditions such as internal bleeding, and make important treatment decisions without radiation or unnecessary patient transfers.
For our patients, it means faster answers, faster treatment and safer care — right here in Kitimat.

LNG Canada continues to invest in local healthcare, KGHF is grateful for the ongoing support.

Community Notification: Planned Maintenance – October 12 - 21st

Please be advised that LNG Canada will be completing facility maintenance on equipment from Oct 12 – 21st that may be audible in the community. As part of these activities, community members may hear intermittent pressure-release sounds associated with nitrogen testing throughout the day between 09:00 and 19:00.

This is part of our normal maintenance and turnaround programs to ensure the safe operation of the LNG Canada facility.

“What a project, what a partnership, what a great day for Canada.” - Prime Minister Mark Carney

Today, we celebrated a Final Investment Decision for LNG Canada Phase 2.

Phase 2 reflects what is possible when Indigenous Nations, communities, governments, workers and industry come together with a shared purpose. It will create thousands of jobs, strengthen partnerships and generate long-term benefits for local communities, British Columbia and Canada.

From shipping our first cargo of made-in-Canada LNG last year to this next chapter, we’re proud to be helping build a thriving Canadian LNG industry and connecting responsibly produced Canadian energy with global markets.
