Life insurance is one of the “secrets” wealthy people use to transfer wealth from one generation to another generation.

It’s Unfortunate that many people don’t see the value in it.

Life insurance is not expensive you just need to cut out on unnecessary expenses and find the funds to purchase what is IMPORTANT, LIFE INSURANCE.

If you die today and I attend your funeral, which of the following do you think your family would find most valuable in case you don't have life insurance?

A. $100 donated to GoFundMe
B. A condolence card
C. A dish of food
D. An arrangement of flowers
E. A check that would cover your funeral expenses, medical bills, debts, mortgage, college education for your kids and replacement of your income for years.

If the answer is E, then we better sit down and have a serious conversation.

Myth: I am too young to need life insurance.
Fact: Your age isn’t what’s important here. What is, is whether or not you’ll be leaving anyone behind who would be worse off financially. And the good news is that life insurance is inexpensive for young, healthy people. Buying life insurance now means you’ll be providing financial security for your loved ones without spending a lot of money on it.

Myth: I have life insurance through my job. I don’t need any more coverage.
Fact: Maybe. But the truth is that employer-provided life insurance coverage may not be enough to protect you and your loved ones as much as you think. Also, will you still have the coverage you need if you leave your place of employment? Review how much your employer-paid insurance provides and calculate if it is enough to accommodate your family if you’re not around. Generally, it’s recommended you have five to 10 times your annual, pre-tax salary in life insurance protection.

Myth: I have coverage from my mortgage lender. It’s enough.
Fact: No, it’s not. Mortgage life insurance pays off your mortgage if one of the people listed on the loan dies before it’s settled. That’s it. What about the rest of your debts and expenses?

Myth: I won’t be able to get insurance because I smoke or v**e.
Fact: Not true. If you smoke or v**e, here’s good news: Many life insurance companies consider you a non-smoker once you’ve been smoke-free for one full year. If you still smoke, you will pay a bit more for coverage than a non-smoker, but it’s likely to be more affordable than you think.

1 in 4 households believe they will suffer financially within just one month if a wage earner were to pass unexpectedly.

That is why it's so important that we not only have an emergency fund to aid us during unpredictable times, but it's important that we are properly protected to ensure that our family is taken care of if we were to pass prematurely.

With it being LIAM, make sure we sit down with a licensed professional to review your options for life insurance.
