It’s our 4th year, we’re aiming to continue our tradition of breaking sales records year after year! Our Charitable Society, founded in 1994, has grown thanks to the dedication of many passionate firefighters. When Barnside Brewing approached us about reviving the Harvest Festival name—which we originally launched in 2013 and ran successfully through 2019—we were thrilled to get involved. Running the 50/50 at the energized Barnside Harvest Festival has been a blast: great music, great people, and a great cause. On August 15, our “Fire in the Kitchen” event was a massive success! Our off-duty firefighters traded their turnout gear for aprons to cook a spectacular private dinner hosted by the Delta Firefighters Charitable Society.

The exclusive dining experience was auctioned off, selling for a staggering $20,000 to directly benefit the Delta Hospital & Community Health Foundation.

This fantastic evening was one of just two highly sought-after dinners that each crossed the $20,000 mark for charity! We are completely blown away by the generosity of our bidders and the amazing support shown for local healthcare.

A huge thank you to everyone who made this possible. Your continued support allows our team to give back to the community we love to serve!

With September just around the corner, the Healthy Snack Program is gearing up for the 2026-2027 school year. Today we attended the “Back to School Blast” hosted by the City Reach Care Society at the Broadway Church in North Delta, supporting families in need. This event provided a backpack full of school supplies as well as a bag of food for families to take home. The Delta Firefighters Charitable Society through our Healthy Snack Program provided snacks to help fill these backpacks. Today, we join everyone in celebrating the beauty of British Columbia and the community we are so proud to serve.

Captain Wade Eddy represents the gold standard of professionalism, integrity, and leadership. On July 29, 2026, after 22+ years of outstanding service, Wade will hang up his helmet for the last time. 🚒👨‍🚒

Since joining Delta Fire on November 1, 2004, his attention to detail and reliability made him deeply respected across the department—capping off his career as Captain of Hall 5 in Sunshine Hills (D-Shift). 🏢📍✨

Highlights of His Service:

• 🌲🔥 Wildland & Technical Expertise: As a certified High Angle Instructor, Wildland Instructor, and Air Tech, Wade was a go-to expert for technical skills and safety. 🧗🛠️ He repeatedly stepped up during provincial emergencies, deploying to major wildfires in Kamloops, Burns Lake, and most recently West Kelowna in 2024.
• 🩺❤️ Crew Health & Union Support: Deeply committed to the well-being of his crew, Wade served as an active member of the Health & Wellness Committee and contributed to key union initiatives over the years.
• 🎪🌾 Community & Charitable Heart: A cornerstone contributor to the Delta Firefighters Charitable Society, he spent years helping organize flagship events like the Harvest Festival at Greystone Stables—and famously brought endless laughs to Bright Nights as "Bad Santa." 🎅🎄
• 🏈🏆 Around the Hall: Beneath that quiet, unassuming exterior was a secret fantasy football mastermind who schooled the league most seasons without ever making a fuss. 🤫

Wade’s quiet leadership, steady hand, and character leave behind a lasting legacy across Delta Fire. 👏✨

Check out the new tribute crosswalk outside Legion Branch #61 in Ladner Village! 🎨🪖

To mark the 100th Anniversary of the Royal Canadian Legion, the City of Delta and the Legion teamed up to create this special crosswalk honoring all those who have served. As Delta Firefighters, we’re thrilled to see it—especially since many of our own members are proud Legion members themselves!
Now it’s time to celebrate!

Delta Firefighters are proud to present the 2026 Charitable Classic, taking place on Thursday, September 24, 2026. The tournament will be hosted at Tsawwassen Springs Golf Course, with registration options available for twosomes at $600 and foursomes at $1200.

This year’s event will feature a Texas Scramble format with a shotgun start, and we are excited to include a brunch and happy hour for all participants, mini games and prizes, and more!

Players can look forward to competing for long drive and hole-in-one prizes, as well as browsing our silent auction. We are also seeking community partners for various sponsorship opportunities. All proceeds from the event stay within the Delta community.
