🚨 *BREAKING: $50,000 GST Rebate is officially LAW!* 🚨
Huge news for your first-time buyer clients! *Bill C-4* (the Making Life More Affordable for Canadians Act) officially received *Royal Assent on March 12, 2026.*
The CRA is now authorized to begin processing these claims. Here is what you need to know to help your clients:
✅ *The Rebate:* 100% of the 5% GST is now rebated on new homes up to *$1 Million* (Max *$50,000* savings!).
✅ *The Threshold:* Homes between *$1M – $1.5M* qualify for a partial/sliding scale rebate.
✅ *Backdating:* It applies to purchase agreements signed on or after *March 20, 2025* .
✅ *Eligibility:* Buyers must be Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents and meet the standard "first-time buyer" definition.
*What should your clients do now?*
*If they already closed* : They can now prepare their application to the CRA.
*If they are shopping:* This is a massive "buy now" incentive for new construction/presales.
