** Update on PST

The BC GOVERNMENT has pressed pause on the ruling of certain professional services, which was to take effect on October 1, 2026.

With this new change in place I will no longer be required to charge the 7% PST, until further notice.

September 1st - a fresh new month, and with it comes the beginning of the month checklist to see what needs to be completed.
As some of you may be aware, our Provincial Gov't has made changes to the budget and accordingly have made changes within the PST requirements.

So, this post is to inform all my clients that effective OCTOBER 1st, 2026, there will be PST of 7% added to my invoice.
Unfortunately this is mandated from the provincial gov't and not a voluntary registration on my part.
Similar to the GST, this is now a tax that I am required to collect and remit as a bookkeeper and tax preparer.

** Note - this does not apply to my clients who reside outside of B.C. as this is a provincial tax only.
GST is federal and applies across Canada.
