𝗦𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝗣𝗟𝗖 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗮 𝗦𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗺 𝗼𝗳 𝗨𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 (𝗠𝗼𝗨)

Southeast Bank PLC. and Academia signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the Bank’s head office recently. This partnership reflects Southeast Bank’s commitment to providing innovative financial services to educational institutions, students, and parents. Mr. Nuruddin Md. Sadeque Hossain, Managing Director of Southeast Bank PLC. and Dr. Md. Kutub Uddin, Managing Director of Academia, exchanged the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations.

Under this MoU, Southeast Bank PLC will provide various financial services to Academia, including the comprehensive education management platform Southeast EduFin. This platform will streamline tuition fee collection, payroll banking, and the special school banking program "TAROKA" for students. Additionally, Academia will be able to utilize the corporate payment module system to facilitate vendor payments and fund transfers seamlessly.
Southeast EduFin is an integrated digital platform designed to enhance the efficiency of administrative and academic activities in schools, colleges, and universities. This platform offers advanced features such as fee management, attendance tracking, grading system management, and seamless communication between parents and teachers. Moreover, it will facilitate fee payments through over-the-counter transactions, internet banking, mobile financial services (MFS), and other integrated banking solutions provided by Southeast Bank.

During the event, Managing Director of Southeast Bank PLC, Mr. Nuruddin Md. Sadeque Hossain, stated: "This partnership is a significant step towards maintaining our commitment to financial innovation and contributing to the advancement of the education sector in Bangladesh. Through this agreement, Academia will be able to streamline its operational processes and offer students and parents more efficient, technology-driven financial solutions."
Mr. Abidur Rahman Chowdhury and Mr. Masum Uddin Khan, Deputy Managing Directors of Southeast Bank PLC. along with other senior officials from both the organizations were present in the signing ceremony.

As part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR), Southeast Bank PLC. has extended special financial support under its special CSR fund to Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University for conducting research activities.

Mr. Nuruddin Md. Sadeque Hossain, Managing Director of the Bank handed over the financial assistance cheque to the Honorable Vice-Chancellor of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Professor Dr. Md. Abdul Latif on the event.

Professor Dr. Md. Arfan Ali, Department of Horticulture and Proctor, Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University; Dr. Mirza Hasanuzzaman, Department of Agronomy and Principal Investigator of the Project, and Anisur Rahman, Department of Agronomy and Co-Researcher of the Project of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University were present in the meeting. Mr. Abidur Rahman Chowdhury, Deputy Managing Director and Md. Musfiqur Rahman, Vice President and Head of CSR Division of Southeast Bank also attended the event.

It is worth mentioning that Southeast Bank has extended similar financial assistance to Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh; Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University, Gazipur; Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Chattogram; Sylhet Agricultural University; Habiganj Agricultural University; and Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University.

This financial assistance reflects Southeast Bank’s ongoing commitment to supporting agricultural research and contributing to national agricultural development as part of its social responsibility initiatives.

Southeast Bank Training Institute organized a day-long workshop on “Money and Banking Data (SBS-1, SBS-2, and SBS-3) Reporting and Recent Changes” on January 27, 2025.

The primary objective of the workshop was to enhance the professional knowledge of the Bank officials while emphasizing the importance, process, and recent changes in SBS reporting. Additionally, hands-on training was provided on Assets, Liabilities, and Classified Loans.

The sessions of the workshop were conducted by Mr. Prabir Kumar Sarker, Director and Mr. Md. Nurul Islam, Additional Director, Statistics Department, Bangladesh Bank; including Mr. Md. Tofazzal Hossain, Deputy Director, Banking Statistics Division of Bangladesh Bank. The trainers from Bangladesh Bank provided the participants with a comprehensive understanding of the significance of SBS reporting and recent changes in this area. They also offered crucial guidance to ensure accurate and error-free reporting.

The honorable Managing Director of the Bank, Mr. Nuruddin Md. Sadeque Hossain, inaugurated the workshop with an insightful speech. In his remarks, he urged the participants to realize the importance of timely and accurate reporting and perform their responsibilities with diligence and expertise.

A total of 62 officials from various branches of the Bank participated in the workshop. Southeast Bank remains committed to organizing similar training programs in the future to further enhance the professional skills of its officials.
