The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has made it compulsory for businesses in 27 specified sectors located in district towns and city corporation areas to implement government-approved Electronic Fiscal Devices (EFD), Sales Data Controllers (SDC), and POS systems linked with VAT Smart Challan (Mushak-6.3). This directive aims to enhance VAT transparency, reduce evasion, and ensure precise record-keeping.

Under this mandate, all authorized businesses are required to issue digitally generated VAT Challans containing embedded QR Codes.
