Advancing Sustainable Industrial Growth in Bangladesh!

Infrastructure Development Company Limited (IDCOL) and PRAN-RFL Group have joined forces to accelerate energy efficiency and renewable energy adoption in Bangladesh’s industrial sector, reinforcing a shared commitment to sustainable growth.

At a ceremony on April 12, 2026, stakeholders highlighted key initiatives under this collaboration:

🔋 BDT 200 crore financing to Kaliganj Agro Processing Limited under IDCOL’s Energy Efficiency Financing Window
☀️ Nearly 35 MW of rooftop solar projects across leading industries
🌍 Reduced carbon emissions, lower energy costs, and enhanced resilience

Notable solar projects include installations at Chorka Textiles Ltd., Ganga Foundry Ltd., Rangpur Metal Industries Ltd., and Sylvan Technologies Ltd., one of the largest industrial solar projects under implementation in the country.

IDCOL CEO Mr. Alamgir Morshed emphasized Bangladesh’s shift toward energy efficiency and renewable integration, aligning industrial growth with global climate commitments.

Ahsan Khan Chowdhury, CEO and Chairman, PRAN-RFL Group, said, “In the journey of industrial expansion, finding the right partner is not just about financial support; it is about finding a shared vision for the future. Our collaboration with IDCOL is a perfect example of this—where their expertise in green financing meets our commitment to industrial excellence.

As our Group grows, we do so in a way that is responsible, efficient, and aligned with the global shift toward a low-carbon economy. We are proud to work alongside IDCOL to set a benchmark for green industrialization in Bangladesh."

With over 864 MWp of renewable energy financed, IDCOL continues to play a leading role in mobilizing climate finance and enabling private sector participation in the clean energy transition.

This partnership sets a strong example of how innovation and collaboration can drive a greener, more competitive future.

A significant step forward for Bangladesh’s clean energy journey 🇧🇩☀️

The Country Director of the World Bank, Mr. Jean Pesme, along with a senior delegation from the World Bank Bangladesh office, visited the 6.05 MWp rooftop solar project at GPH Ispat Ltd., one of the largest industrial rooftop solar installations in the country, financed by IDCOL.

The delegation was accompanied by IDCOL’s Executive Director & CEO, Mr. Alamgir Morshed, and senior officials. During the visit, Mr. Pesme appreciated Bangladesh’s progress in scaling up clean energy and highlighted the importance of strong partnerships in achieving sustainable development.

IDCOL reaffirmed its commitment to accelerating renewable energy financing, especially in the rooftop solar segment. With a target of 1,150 MWp by 2030, IDCOL has already financed around 220 MWp, with a robust pipeline ahead.

This project reflects the growing role of the private sector in driving clean energy adoption, powering industries while reducing emissions.

A great example of collaboration between the World Bank and IDCOL in building a greener, climate-resilient Bangladesh.
