𝐎𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐚𝐭𝐫𝐚: 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐉𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝
We brought women entrepreneurs, financial institutions, and ecosystem partners together to unfold a meaningful exchange of perspectives.
As an initiative under the 𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐭𝐡: 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐋𝐞𝐧𝐬 𝐈𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 (𝐆𝐋𝐈) 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐡, supported by the Embassy of Switzerland in Bangladesh, Truvalu Bangladesh hosted 𝐎𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐚𝐭𝐫𝐚, an event that brought together stakeholders to foster constructive dialogue around business growth and access to finance.
At the event, several women-focused SMEs showcased their products and engaged directly with representatives from Eastern Bank PLC., IPDC Finance, BRAC Bank PLC and City Bank. Some important insights that emerged from the conversations were:
- Access to finance is not only about financial products but also about understanding what these businesses do and what they need to grow. Financial institutions acknowledged that Relationship Managers need greater exposure to the business model and requirements of these enterprises so they can assess financing needs more effectively
- Entrepreneurs emphasised that while training remains valuable, many SMEs are now looking for stronger market linkages, access to finance, technology adoption, and tailored support to help them grow.
- Informal dialogue matters. Both SMEs and financial institutions highlighted that events like these help build understanding, trust, and relationships that can ultimately improve access to finance.
Events like this are a great platform to hear from entrepreneurs and facilitate direct engagement with banks and non-banking financial institutions.
We extend our sincere gratitude to the Embassy of Switzerland in Bangladesh, our financial institution partners, and remarkable women entrepreneurs who showed up, spoke up, and pushed the conversation forward.
Together, let’s build a more inclusive and responsive financial ecosystem.
